Catalina Reyes Navarro (b. 1992) is a Chilean artist and filmmaker currently based in Amsterdam. She holds a BA in Graphic Design from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso, a certificate in Creative Practices from the International Center of Photography (USA), and an MA in Moving Image from the Sandberg Instituut (NL).

Catalina intertwines personal and historical narratives to build temporal constellations in her moving image work, where memory and storytelling play a critical role in reshaping how we perceive the past and the present in our environment.

Currently, Catalina is developing Micro Temporalities, a project that investigates sustainable approaches to analog photography by integrating microorganisms into the photographic development process. Funded by the Creative Industries Fund NL, this project researches ecological alternatives to traditional photographic techniques and is carried out in collaboration with microbiology laboratories in the Netherlands and Chile.

Catalina has actively contributed to interdisciplinary and collaborative projects, including Brackish (2023), a research-based artistic initiative focusing on landscapes and territorial reclamation in the Netherlands. She also co-created From the Verge Looking Inwards (2021) with Michelle Mildenberg, a publication and screening platform that spotlighted Latin American artists working in the Netherlands, fostering dialogue across cultural and geographic boundaries.

Her work has been exhibited internationally at venues such as Filmhuis Cavia (NL), 4Bid Gallery (NL), NDSM Treehouse (NL), Zone2Source (NL), De DOOR (NL), Worm Rotterdam (NL), Kunsthub Bink (NL), Somerville Toy Camera Festival (USA), W139 (NL), Het Klokhuis (NL), Van Every/Smith Galleries Davidson College (USA), Sala Valparaíso (CL), the International Festival of La Calera (CL), Het Nieuwe Instituut (NL), and Kunsthal KAdE (NL), among others.
